This is a new decal sheet from Cutting Edge Modelworks.  The sheet includes markings for 3 different Lightnings in 1/48 scale.
The first plane is a P-38G flown by Lt. Sidney W. Weatherford "TOMMIE'S/LUCKY PENNY" of the 48th FS, 14th FG in North Africa in August 1943.  This plane is Olive Drab on top and Neutral Gray on the underside.  The nose art features a North American Indian in full head dress.
This aircraft is named after Weatherford's wife, indicating his promise that he would return after his tour.  All his victories were scored between May 28 and Aug 26, 1943.
The second plane is a P-38L-1 flown by LT. William Fowkes "BILLY'S FILLY" of the 12 FS in the 18FG in Zamboanga, Philippines.  This plane is a bare metal finish with blue highlights ...including blue checkerboard on he tail booms.  The nose art is of a naked woman talking on the phone with the text "Billy's Filly".
The third plane is a P-38L-5 flown by Capt. Elliot Summer 44-25600 of the 432nd FS, 475th FG in 1945.  This plane is a bare metal finish with yellow highlights.  Also of note is all the kill markings on the side of the fuselage by the cockpit.  The nose art appears to be Uncle Sam on a Lightning bolt speeding towards a target.

The decals were flawlessly printed and the clear carrier film is trimmed very close to the crisply printed colored areas, which is always good to see.  Some of the decals are in 2 layers to ensure perfect register.

There instructions are clear and an extra page of text instruction is included with a small bit of info on each plane.

A very nice product and highly recommended.
