Colours are off in the above picture...the decals are NOT yellow.  It's sometimes difficult to get the pics to look right when I have to shoot them in the dead of night due to family considerations.

Set kindly loaned for this review by Percy Olson

I've had requests from a few modellers about this resin conversion set. I'm unable to buy every resin set I'd like to review due to the cost, but I did hear one of the ARC regulars had a set, so I arranged to borrow it off him so I could photo the set and do a review. Please note this set is slightly started...as can be seen in the first image below. On to the review.....

This set is designed to permit the modeller to convert the 1/48 Italeri UH-1N Twin Huey to a CH-146 Griffon (Bell 412). Included in the set are the transmission fairing, new rotor head and blades, hoist, wire strike cutters, blade sensors and GPS antenna. It also includes replacement crew seats c/w belts and decals for the CH-146.

I wasn't sure if this conversion set interested me. I've never been big on choppers, so far, but I must admit the bubble free high quality castings make me quite interested in picking up this set. Mike Belcher at Belcher Bits has gone the typical extra mile to get everything together that the modeller would need to complete the conversion. It is a very complete and nicely detailed set. The instruction sheets are very comprehensive, but Belcher Bits is well known for this.

Photographers note: Please remember...these photos show the items many times their normal size and for these pieces to still look this flawless is quite the testament to the high quality standards at Belcher Bits.

The instruction sheets are very complete with piles of details from history to assembly to painting. We have many Griffon reference pictures in our Walk Around section on ARC.

You can order this set directly from the Belcher Bits website.
