This
is my first contribution to ARC. This model depicts an aircraft flown during the
Korean War.
The
color scheme and decals come from Cutting Edge Sheet (#CED48017). I used Aires
detail set (engine, cockpit, guns, etc..). The paints are from Gunze and Alclad
for the metallic parts.
Enjoy
the pictures!
The
rivets are clearly visible on Migs with Natural Metal Finish. So I decided to
add these level of detail on the lower fuselage, which was painted with Alclad
Aluminium. The rivets are done with a small needle and the help of dymo tape.

The
funniest part of this built was the painting of the three colors camouflage.
This
task was greatly simplified by the use of small rolls of Patafix (also known as
Blue-Tak). The yellow color was sprayed first. Then I masked the parts that
should remains yellow. Then I sprayed the black color and masked again.
And
finally, the green color was sprayed. At each stage, I applied a lighter color
in the center of panels.
I
was really pleased with the result when all the masks where removed.

The
last steps was to apply the decals over a coat of future and highlight the panel
line with black ink. A very diluted coat of light gray was used to homogenize
the
camouflage before the final mat coat.
