Indonesia Independence Day

This is my first article to the ARC community. I made this BO-105 for a chopper challenge that was held in Jakarta – Indonesia . Within three weeks I must get the job done. So I decided to make it straight from the box, but with different markings.

I used a Revell BO-105 in 1/32 scale. I decided to use other markings for my BO-105, so I chose for the Indonesian Army markings. I used yellow letter decals from Albatros and the pentagon came from old decal, I can’t remember the name of the manufacturer, the black star came from Tamiya Sgt York Tank. Painted over all in dark green, I used British dark green from Testors.

I’ve done some homework to fulfill this task, especially when it comes to the color scheme. I borrowed the pictures from the one and only aviation magazine in Indonesia “ANGKASA”. This BO-105 used by TNI-AD (Tentara Nasional Indonesia Angkatan Darat) or Indonesian Army. They use to call the pilot as Penerbad (Penerbang Angkatan Darat) or Army Aviator. This BO-105 is station at the Ahmad Yani base in Semarang , Central Java .

My BO-105 isn’t equipped with weapons because Revell only provides one model of the rocket launcher that isn’t suitable for my Indonesian BO-105, and there was no time to scratch build this.

I’ve made this article for our 58th independence day on August,17th,2003 .

Cheers
