Academy's Hunter's build into
really nice replica's of the real things. They do need some work, and additions
from the "cottage industry", but they're affordable, buildable (you
may learn some additional swearwords when nailing the wings on though!!) and
potentially, colourful.
Here's my latest Hunter, the
FR10. This particular version was based upon the FGA9 but had a camera nose
added. This model depicts RAF No 4 Squadron. Circa 1969/70. The
"Camera Nose" is from a PJ resin update set as is the cockpit and seat
and Parachute fairing. Decals are from Xtradecal (yes, I realise the 4 Sqn
markings on the nose are slightly out of register!). She's carrying a fairly
standard fit of 2 x 230 gallon and 2 x 100gallon tanks."
