The Red Knight. From the 50s to the late 60s they were almost as well known as the Golden Hawks. The Red Knights went to the little airshows, back in the day when airshows were common. The Golden Hawks with their multiple Gold paint Sabres did the "big" shows. Sometimes the little solo act Red Knight would be there too. Or they were the highlight at the smaller shows across Canada back in the day.

The first version of the plane simply had the major markings masked over, the bright red orange paint applied overall. As time went on they developed a better looking overall scheme, but still with standard markings. Then at last some really snazzy scheme as shown here. There were actually 4 red knight aircraft as T-33s. 057 was lost in a crash. It was replaced by another that crashed and another that was over stressed in flight and retired to the museum in Ottawa where it still sits today. Another crash, then the RCAF switched the red knight to CT-114 Tutors. Again a crash and that was it for the program. Sadly most of those crashes were fatal.

I built this model for a customer, but had always wanted this scheme for myself. As cleaning this nasty colour from the airbrush is quite the chore, I decided to do all three together.. I also included the latest bunch of planes waiting in the basement for a customer to pick up. Most enjoyable to be able to build for someone else.
