1/48 Airfix Harrier GR3 converted into a Harrier T4N

This is not a Sea Harrier!!!! The Fleet Air Arm's 899 RNASqn use these birds as a part of their training, they are not "navalised" though.

The model is built around The Airfix GR3. The nose has been extended using plastic rod - to get the correct extended length, plastic card for the side walls and Milliput for the shape.  The canopy's have been Crash moulded over plastic card/milliput formers.  The tail unit has also been extended with the longer boom.

A good set of drawings is ESSENTIAL!!!

Decals are from various sources, seats form Airwaves - slightly modified.

The only area I'm not that happy with is the cockpit partition windscreen and instrument coaming. The real thing has more angles on it than an "Arfur Daley dodgy deal"- (Olde English Joke!)"
