Here is my rendition of the Revell/Monogram F-15E Strike Eagle. The cockpit was detailed with the Eduard photo-etched set. The bombs and LANTIRN pods are from Hasegawa's weapons set part D.

The flaps were cut away and posed in the down position.

The kit was finished in Model Master paints. It was painted gunship gray (FS 36118) and weathered with an enamel wash. The engine fairings were painted with different shades of Model Master metalizer paints. After painting the base color (to include the engine fairings) and landing gear bays the entire model was given a coat of Future floor polish and set aside to dry for 24hrs. The wash, which is thinned down gloss black, was applied and set aside for 24hrs. Wipe off the excess wash with a cloth dampened with paint thinner in the direction of airflow and let it sit for 24hrs. Give it another coat of Future and set aside for 24hrs.

Next the decals are applied. I personally use Model Master decal setting solution and Solvaset. Once the decals have dried give it another coat of future. Once dry touch up the weathering on the decals and let dry. Now mask off all areas that are to remain gloss. This includes the metallic painted areas. I use the Scotch brand removable tape (the kind in the blue package). I used the kit decals for the 391st Fighter Squadron the Bold Tigers. They go on beautifully. Hope you enjoy the article.
