Fw 190D-9 converted to Fw 190D-11 Fw 190D-11 WNr 220011 Stab General der Jagdflieger, Kennung, Germany, May1945
The Tamiya Dora-9 provided the basis for this conversion to a Dora-11. The conversion was carried out using Bob Stephenson's resin conversion (thanks Al!). For those wanting to see how this conversion is carried out I can only recommend that you go to Scott Van Aken's Modeling Madness excellent article on it that is on his web page. . click here to see it!
Adeco provided the interior for this model and I can only say what superb value for money this is. For less than 6 quid you get a beautiful bit of casting that fits a treat, and at these prices you can afford to add one to every Dora you make rather than as a special case! The model is finished in an 81/82/(the colour known as) 84 scheme with a 76 extension band on the fuselage. Paint is from Extracolor and the decals are from Third Group set 49-039. Beautiful scheme on a beautiful subject. Drewe Manton |
